Preparing electrical wire joints, soldering, crimping, assembling and testing wiring systems, constructing electrical and magnetic circuits, and using instruments for measurement of various electrical parameters.
Demonstrating characteristics of photovoltaic cells, modules, batteries, and charge controllers, performing basic electric energy calculations, and understanding transmission and distribution of electrical power.
Connecting and testing solar panels, charge controllers, battery banks, and inverters, constructing solar DC appliances, performing battery maintenance and disposal, and verifying natural planetary movements and sunlight paths.
Performing tests and measurements on PV modules as per IEC standards, preparing bill of materials for solar PV projects, assisting in installation and commissioning of solar PV and hybrid plants, and manufacturing marketable solar products.

Ability to check installation sites, understand layout requirements as per design, assess precautionary measures, install solar panels as per customer requirements, and ensure effective system functioning post installation.
Proficiency in evaluating installation sites, designing solar PV systems, planning and arranging materials, supervising installation technicians, and ensuring smooth commissioning of solar power systems.
Competence in cleaning installed solar modules, checking photovoltaic systems for uninterrupted power output, identifying faults in PV systems, and performing operation and maintenance with best industry practices.
Skills in fixing frames and junction boxes in solar modules, connecting tabbing wires, soldering connections, preparing solar modules for final assembly, and commissioning marketable solar energy products.

Can work as a Solar Panel Installation Technician in solar energy companies, EPC contractors, and residential and commercial solar installation firms across India and internationally.
Can find employment as a Solar PV System Maintenance Technician in solar power plants, rooftop solar projects, and renewable energy service companies handling operation and maintenance activities.
Can join solar module manufacturing companies as a Module Assembly Technician handling framing, junction box fixing, tabbing wire connections, and soldering in solar panel production facilities.
Can become a self-employed entrepreneur by offering solar panel installation, maintenance, and commissioning services to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers in the growing renewable energy market.

Can pursue a Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering from AICTE recognized institutions to qualify as a Solar PV System Installation Engineer for larger projects.
Can join the Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) to become a certified ITI instructor in the Solar Technician Electrical trade after gaining required industry experience under DGT.
Can obtain certifications from MNRE, NABCEP, or other recognized bodies in solar PV system design, installation, and commissioning to meet growing national and international renewable energy industry demands.
Can pursue advanced training in hybrid energy systems, battery storage technology, grid-connected solar systems, or smart energy management to qualify for higher technical and project management roles.
