Basic fitting operations, precision measurements, using cutting tools and fastening devices, producing sheet metal components, constructing electrical and electronic circuits, performing battery testing, welding, and non-destructive testing of auto components.
Overhauling tractor diesel engines, servicing cooling, lubrication, fuel feed, intake and exhaust systems, overhauling clutch, gearbox, differential, PTO unit, steering system, brake system, wheels, tyres, and charging and starting systems.
Troubleshooting tillage implements including mould board plough, disc plough, chisel plough, rotavator, disc harrows, power harrows, cultivators, laser leveller, trencher, seed drills, planters, and fertilizer applicators.
Servicing and troubleshooting sprayers, dusters, reapers, threshers, combine harvesters, mowers, hay bailers, groundnut diggers, potato diggers, winnowers, rice hullers, polishers, and grain handling and drying equipment.

Ability to examine, diagnose, dismantle, repair, and reassemble tractor engines and agricultural machinery with correct settings, clearances, timings, and adjustments for stipulated performance.
Proficiency in operating farm tractors with different attachments for ploughing, harrowing, and harvesting operations, maintaining fuel records, and performing minor mechanical repairs in field conditions.
Competence in servicing pumps, irrigation valves, hydrants, power tillers, and power weeders, and maintaining combine harvesters, reaper winders, straw reapers, and other harvesting machinery.
Skills in identifying hydraulic and pneumatic components, performing basic electrical testing in vehicles, welding and brazing parts, and operating construction tractors for hauling graders and trailers.

Can work as a Tractor Mechanic in agricultural machinery repair workshops, tractor dealerships, and service centres handling repair, maintenance, and overhaul of tractors and farm equipment.
Can find employment as a Tractor Operator or Farm Tractor Driver in agricultural farms, agro-processing companies, and plantation estates operating tractors with various field attachments.
Can join agricultural machinery manufacturers, equipment rental companies, and government agricultural departments as a service technician maintaining and troubleshooting farm machinery and implements.
Can work in construction companies as a Tractor Driver operating diesel and petrol powered tractors for hauling trailers, graders, and rollers in road construction and earthmoving projects.

Can pursue a Diploma or Degree in Agricultural Engineering from AICTE recognized institutions to gain advanced technical knowledge and qualify for higher positions in agri-machinery industry.
Can join the Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) to become a certified ITI instructor in the Mechanic Agricultural Machinery trade after gaining required industry experience under DGT.
Can pursue specialized training in precision farming equipment, GPS-guided agricultural machinery, combine harvester technology, or electric tractor systems to meet modern agricultural mechanization demands.
Can obtain certifications in agricultural equipment service management, hydraulic systems, or advanced diagnostics to advance into senior service engineer, supervisor, or dealership management roles.
