Performing electrical and electronic measurements, testing electronic components, soldering and desoldering SMD components, constructing analog and digital circuits, and troubleshooting using electronic simulation software.
Applying principles of sensors and transducers for IoT applications, identifying and testing microcontrollers, selecting signal conditioning circuits, and installing and configuring computer systems and networking for different applications.
Identifying and selecting sensors for smart agriculture, selecting wireless communication modules like Zigbee, Bluetooth, GSM, WiFi, and testing wired and wireless communication protocols including RS232, Ethernet, and Fibre Optic.
Installing greenhouse devices, monitoring soil moisture and temperature for irrigation control, selecting plant health monitoring systems, installing livestock monitoring devices, operating drones, and collecting agricultural data using UAVs.

Ability to identify IoT enabled systems in agriculture like Precision Farming, Livestock Monitoring, and Agricultural Drones to help farmers maximize yields using minimal water, fertilizer, and seeds.
Proficiency in positioning sensors to collect soil properties data including pH, nutrient levels, compaction, temperature, and rainfall using GPS and GIS systems for detailed field analysis.
Competence in applying Precision Agriculture tools like Soil Mapping, Yield Mapping, Remote Sensing, Variable Rate Technology, Integrated Pest Management, and Water Management for precision irrigation.
Skills in installing and troubleshooting drone components equipped with cameras and sensors for crop monitoring, soil analysis, plant counting, yield prediction, canopy cover mapping, and solar panel testing.

Can work as an IoT Technician in agri-tech companies, precision farming organizations, and smart greenhouse facilities installing and maintaining IoT systems for crop monitoring and management.
Can find employment in agricultural drone service companies handling drone installation, troubleshooting, crop spraying, soil analysis, and yield prediction data collection using UAV technology.
Can join livestock monitoring companies, dairy farms, and cattle management organizations installing wearable sensors and IoT devices for tracking location, health, and well-being of animals.
Can work in solar energy companies, rural electrification projects, and smart irrigation system providers handling installation, testing, and maintenance of solar panels and IoT-based water management systems.

Can pursue a Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electronics and Communication, or Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from AICTE recognized institutions for advanced technical qualifications.
Can join the Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) to become a certified ITI instructor in the IoT Technician Smart Agriculture trade after gaining required industry experience under DGT.
Can pursue specialized certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, cloud computing platforms, or precision agriculture technology to develop AI-enabled smart farming applications and solutions.
Can obtain advanced training in drone technology, GIS and remote sensing, data analytics, or agricultural robotics to qualify for higher-level technical and research roles in agri-tech industries.
