Performing proper sanitation, maintaining cleanliness, purifying water, identifying and controlling unwanted odours, and demonstrating hospital waste disposal procedures following safety precautions.
Performing safety awareness activities related to fire, electrical, and natural hazards, identifying rodent and animal transmitted diseases, and demonstrating prevention and eradication measures.
Creating and maintaining pleasant lighting, aesthetic colour schemes, ventilation, and interior decoration in hospital areas, along with distributing clean linen, surgical gowns, and maintaining inventory.
Checking custody, operation, and maintenance of hospital equipment, carrying out infection control measures, maintaining internal and external environmental hygiene, coordinating managerial tasks, and performing basic computer operations.

Ability to keep hospital buildings, wards, operation theatres, and common areas in clean and orderly condition following strict infection control and hygiene protocols at all times.
Proficiency in hospital waste management including segregation, disposal, and handling of biomedical waste safely while complying with healthcare regulations and environmental safety standards.
Competence in maintaining hospital linen inventory, ensuring proper custody and maintenance of hospital equipment, and coordinating housekeeping activities across different departments efficiently.
Skills in performing minor maintenance activities, replacing air conditioning filters, regulating heating and cooling systems, and notifying management about major repair requirements in hospital premises.

Can work as a Hospital Housekeeping Attendant or Janitor in government and private hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare facilities maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards.
Can find employment in five-star hotels, resorts, airport terminals, shopping malls, and corporate office buildings as a Housekeeping Attendant managing cleanliness and facility maintenance.
Can join facility management companies providing outsourced housekeeping, sanitation, and maintenance services to hospitals, educational institutions, and large commercial establishments.
Can work in diagnostic centres, pharmaceutical manufacturing units, laboratories, and research facilities where strict hygiene, cleanliness, and infection control standards are mandatory requirements.

Can pursue a Diploma or Degree in Hospital Administration or Healthcare Management from recognized institutions to gain advanced knowledge and move into supervisory or managerial roles.
Can join the Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) to become a certified ITI instructor in the Hospital Housekeeping trade after gaining the required industry experience under DGT.
Can obtain certifications in infection prevention and control, biomedical waste management, or occupational health and safety to meet growing compliance requirements of the healthcare industry.
Can pursue specialized training in facility management, interior decoration, housekeeping supervision, or hospitality management to advance into senior housekeeping supervisor or manager positions.
