Planning solid waste management systems, practicing biomedical and e-waste management, identifying air pollution sources, interpreting global warming effects, suggesting noise pollution remedies, and planning ventilation requirements.
Handling night soil management, liquid waste disposal, understanding types of sewers, health hazards from waste, and suggesting appropriate food preservation techniques for various types of food items.

Ability to inspect houses, shops, factories, hotels, restaurants, and public places to ensure food safety, sanitation standards, and compliance with public health regulations and guidelines.
Proficiency in taking preventive measures against infectious diseases, conducting disinfection operations, implementing anti-malarial and anti-epidemic measures, and performing inoculation work in communities.
Competence in managing solid waste, biomedical waste, e-waste, liquid waste, and sewage systems while protecting the environment and maintaining public health standards in urban and rural areas.
Skills in reporting disease outbreaks to authorities, attending court proceedings for sanitation violations, supervising sanitary staff, maintaining birth and death records, and investigating causes of death.

Can work as a Health Sanitary Inspector in municipal corporations, local bodies, gram panchayats, and urban local bodies overseeing public health, sanitation, and waste management activities.
Can find employment in government health departments, public health engineering departments, and water supply boards handling water treatment, purification, and sanitation infrastructure management.
Can join hotels, restaurants, food manufacturing units, slaughterhouses, and food inspection departments as a Food Inspector ensuring food safety and hygiene compliance standards are met.
Can work in hospitals, healthcare facilities, and biomedical waste management companies handling biomedical waste disposal, infection control, and environmental health and safety compliance activities.

Can pursue a Diploma in Sanitary Inspector or Environmental Health from recognized boards or institutions to gain advanced qualifications and improve professional standing in public health.
Can join the Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) to become a certified ITI instructor in the Health Sanitary Inspector trade after gaining required experience under DGT guidelines.
Can pursue degree programs in Public Health, Environmental Science, or Community Health to qualify for senior positions in government health departments and international health organizations.
Can obtain specialized certifications in food safety auditing, FSSAI regulations, environmental impact assessment, or occupational health and safety to broaden career opportunities across multiple sectors.
