DET - ITI Admission

Basic fitting operations including marking, punching, filing, drilling, reaming, tapping, sheet metal work, soldering, riveting, gas welding, arc welding, and brazing on copper tubes.
Electrical skills covering wire joints, measuring power, current, voltage, earth resistance, testing AC motors, DC generators, electronic components, and understanding electrical safety procedures.
Installation, servicing, and maintenance of refrigerators, deep freezers, bottle coolers, window AC, split AC, VRV/VRF systems, package AC, and visi coolers including gas charging and copper tube brazing.
Advanced skills in central air conditioning, HVAC duct designing, chiller piping, cold storage maintenance, compressor dismantling, psychrometric processes, and cooling tower maintenance.

Ability to install, repair, and service refrigeration and air conditioning systems by replacing defective parts, re-seating valves, refitting coils, and conducting vacuum and pressure tests.
Proficiency in handling various refrigerants including CFC, HCFC, and HFC, performing gas charging, recovery, oil charging, flushing, and ensuring leak-free system operation.
Competence in servicing commercial and industrial systems such as cold storage plants, ice candy plants, chiller systems, DX systems, and central AC plants with troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of HVAC duct designing, air velocity measurement using anemometers, maintenance of air filters, fan and blower servicing, and capacity control of compressors.

Can work as a Central Air Conditioning Plant Mechanic in commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, shopping malls, and large industrial facilities requiring centralized cooling systems.
Can join refrigeration and air conditioning service companies handling repair and maintenance of domestic appliances, split ACs, package ACs, and VRV/VRF systems.
Can find employment in cold storage units, ice plants, food processing industries, pharmaceutical companies, and ship or aircraft air conditioning maintenance departments.
Can become a self-employed technician or entrepreneur by starting an AC and refrigeration service and repair business catering to residential and commercial clients.

Can pursue a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering from AICTE recognized institutions to gain advanced theoretical knowledge and improve career growth prospects.
Can join the Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) to become a certified ITI instructor in the Central Air Condition Plant Mechanic trade under DGT.
Can enroll in Advanced Diploma (Vocational) courses under DGT or obtain NTC/NAC certification for formal recognition and higher industry-level positions.
Can pursue specialized certifications in HVAC design, energy auditing, green building systems, or refrigerant handling to meet growing global industry demands.

Central Aircondition Plant Mechanic
